The Communications Department is in operation 24hrs, 365 days of a year. This also includes holidays and weekends. The Communication Office is manned by TCLEOSE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education) and The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Certified Telecommunications Operators. The Communications Office is currently staffed by a Chief Communications Operator and 4 full and 1 part time Communications Operators. The Communications Office dispatches calls for the Police Department, Animal Control, Constables Office, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Fire Department. The Communications Office handles 911 emergency calls for service whether it is ambulance request, fire request or any needs of the citizens.
