The Port Aransas Police Department has immediate openings for two certified Police Officers.

Port Aransas is located on Mustang Island bordering Corpus Christi. With eight miles of beach, some of the best fishing in the world, and a variety of clubs and great restaurants, it is one of the most popular beach communities and spring break destinations in Texas.

The Port Aransas Police Department is a small but growing law enforcement agency. We offer competitive salaries, starting at $ 14.48 per hour and increasing to $ 15.25 at end of probation, and plenty of opportunities for overtime. The city provides all equipment including uniforms, duty weapon, radios, and tasers. Our fleet of new, Super Cab, Ford F-150, 4x4, police vehicles is fully equipped with state of the art digital video, Mobile Data Computers, and radar.

Applicants should be highly motivated and mature enough to work with limited direct supervision. Because we are a tourist destination, candidates must be community policing oriented, problem solvers, able to apply discretionary judgment in their decisions. Prior law enforcement experience is preferred, but not necessary.
