Interval Training:

High Intensity Interval Training is offered by Parks and Recreation at 6:30am on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays.

Beginner-Moderate Interval Training, a less intense workout is held Mondays & Wednesdays at 5:15pm.

Both are with Personal Trainer Karen Decker, for men & women in any physical shape with certified trainer Karen Decker at 361-903-0901. $3 drop in class or $30 for 15 classes. Check [make out to COPA] or cash.
Classes are held upstairs in the 2nd floor foyer of Port Aransas High School, 100 S. Station St.



Port A RPG Game Night

If you are into gaming age 16 and older, here is another outlet for play. In a con-trolled environment, high school and college gamers play Pathfinder, Star Wars RPG and Mutants & Master-minds. Held every Friday and Saturday, 4:30 pm to close, in the Girl Scout hut inside Parks and Recreation building, 739 W. Ave. A. No charge to attend, but food usually is ordered if gamers want to eat while playing.
Beach Walk
Fourth Fridays, 9am

Free guided tour with Eliesha Barr. Meet under the purple flag near Horace Caldwell Pier at the end of Beach Street. Held the fourth Friday of each month. Great for all ages.

Yoga on the beach
Second Saturdays, 8am

Free yoga class instruction by Nancy Myers at Horace Caldwell Pier, at the end of Beach Street. Bring mat or towel suitable for use on the beach. Held the second Saturday of each month.


Nature Preserves of Port Aransas Activities

* Pedaling in the Preserve
: 3:30 - 4:30pm, 3rd Thursday, September - November. Bring your bike to pavilion and ride through the Port Aransas Nature Preserve at Charlie?s Pasture located at the end of Port Street with Community Program Coordinator Pam Greene. Bikers of all ages welcome. FREE!
*Migration Conversation: 9am, 3rd Tuesday, September - November. Join other bird enthusiasts for a social gathering to discuss the latest bird news, events and action in the Coastal Bend. Birding and photography are encouraged. Meet at the Nature Preserve at Charlie's Pasture Pavilion. FREE!
* Birding on the Boardwalk: 9am, Wednesdays. Join birding expert, Nan Dietert, as she points out what?s flying, floating or fishing at the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center at the end of Ross Avenue. Birders of all ability levels are encouraged to attend. Bring your own binoculars. FREE!
* Forest Spring Qigong: 9am. Saturdays, September - November. Relax, just do it! Suzanne McCann will be leading a weekly moving meditation in the outdoor pavilion at the Nature Preserve at Charlie's Pasture. The being active in cooler morning temperature is a great way to start your day! $5/person.
* Youth/Family Birding Course: 3:30-5pm. Wednesdays, Sept. 28 - Nov. 16 for grades 3 - 8. Parents and guardians are welcome to sign up to participate with students! Learn to use binoculars, and how to identify com-mon birds by sight, silhouette and sound with expert Julie Findley. Students will practice identification in the classroom as well as at the Birding Center, Port Aransas Nature Preserve at Charlie?s Pasture, Paradise Pond, and other sites. Interested students can form teams to compete in the Great Texas Birding Classic in the spring. Registration required. $20/person.
**All programs are outside, so please come dressed for the weather with a water bottle, sunscreen and a hat.
