Yet another way to fine tune your body and spirit is being offered by the City of Port Aransas Parks and Recreation Department. A Worship Yoga will be held on Sunday mornings, beginning on Sept. 6, at 7 am. Meet at the pavilion in the Port Aransas Nature Preserve at Charlie’s Pasture at the end of Port Street.
WHO can participate? Anyone with a pulse. Gentle YET invigorating. Whether a first timer or a seasoned yogi, the feeling of knowing a connection to God through Christ will come through. Yogis will be taken through a gentle set of asanas (poses/postures) connecting to God through Christ with movement, breathe, and scripture. A fresh approach to the timeless love we all yearn for.
Brittany Young will lead the classes.
Young describes herself as “a daughter of the One and sister to all. Just a follower of Christ because of what I have seen Him do in my life and others. I have a passion for TOTAL health. Mind, body and soul. I want to share the Great News with those who perhaps may not know Him, those who already do and those who may have been "church hurt" in the past. I have 12 years’ experience in yoga. Studied Biblical Scripture for 2 years at a private Bible College in Dallas, Texas and worked with prison inmates and the homeless during my walk with Christ. I want to live the life God intended for me all the while encouraging others to be the best they can be.
Come connect with God through Christ and the Holy scriptures. Come invigorate your soul and body with praise and movement. Gratitude, love, and mercy to one and to all. Be a part of your own healing, your own personal connection with Christ through breathe, movement, visualization, and prayer.”
Cost is $2, checks may be made out to COPA (City of Port Aransas).
Bring your own mat. Stretch and enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings.
