SPECIAL EVENTS The Port Aransas Police Department Divisions are available to speak to community groups of any size. Some of the topics for presentations are "Identity Theft", "Protective Orders and Family Violence"," Bicycle Safety", "Theft Prevention", "When to Call 911", "Cellular Phones and 911" and "What 911 Operators want to know", just to name a few. Bicycle Rodeo 2008

2009 Bicycle Rodeo We are proud to announce that we are conducting our 2nd Annual Bicycle Rodeo Event this year. We would like to invite all bike riders between the ages of 5-12 to participate. This years event will be held in the parking lot of the Port Aransas High School. Any rider participating in the rodeo must have a helment and thier own suited bicycle to be in the event. This year the Coastal Bend Advisory Council will be providing 60 free helments. These helments will be given on a first come first serve basis until all are given. This wonderful event will take place on May 17, 2009, beginning at approximately 8:30 AM. All participants will be required to sign a waiver of release before the time of the rodeo. Assisting the Police Department with this years event will be the Port Aransas Fire Department, Port Aransas EMS. Sponsoring the event is the Kiwanis of Port Aransas.
